Simple Food Storage System

Getting started with emergency food storage can be intimidating.  Where do you start?  How many boxes of Hamburger Helper can you eat before you go crazy?  Where do you store three months worth of MREs?  Getting started is always the hardest part and without a plan you may find yourself missing something important or with too much of something nobody really likes.

I recently ran across Wendy DeWitt’s outstanding e-book “Everything Under the Sun”.  This is one of the easiest and most complete food storage guides I’ve seen.  It isn’t a shopping list, you have to make your own and she shows you how, it isn’t a recipe book, although she does share her favorites, and best of all, it isn’t a marketing ploy to buy her “Family Sized Meals for a Year.”  It is simply an easy to follow, sensible plan to store the foods you already use everyday.

Wendy offers the e-book for free and allows free distribution, so here is the link:

I looked it over and that’s a very good guide! Most people think you can just buy a few giant sacks of rice, some water purification tablets, and a couple cases of canned beef stew and they’ll be fine… Wrong! There’s so much more to it, and this e-book covers it pretty well.

Definitely worth checking out if you’re planning on building a stockpile of emergency food. Good luck, and God bless!
