Dynamic Hunting Rifle

Defensive Hunting Rifle Class

Hunting rifles, typically lever action rifles and bolt action rifles, are often overlooked as serious self defense weapons.  Certainly, modern carbines, such as the AR-15 and AK-47, have significant design advantages, most notably high capacity magazines, semi-automatic actions, and rapid reloads.  However, virtually every hunter and gun enthusiast owns at least one hunting rifle.  Lever Action rifles, in particular, are the quintessential American rifle.  They share a rich history dating back more than 150 years and are still considered one of the best rifles available for hunting and recreational shooting.  While we don’t advocate a hunting rifle as your primary choice for self defense, they are exceptionally capable weapons and with the proper training are an effective choice for self defense.  This class is designed to teach you how to operate your rifle in a self defense role.

NOTE:  Students will be required to provide their own lever action rifle and a defensive pistol.  Students are encouraged to bring butt stock ammo carriers (Buttstock Rifle Shell Holder) or other ammo carriers.  Butt Stock carries may be provided at cost (please request when registering).
